WHO FOR:
Those responsible for cooling systems and water treatment engineers wishing to expand their knowledge in the safe and effective treatment of cooling water. This course follows W016 Cooling & Boiler Water Chemistry Part 1.
 
OBJECTIVES:
To give information on the design and control of water treatment programmes for open cooling water systems (including evaporative condensers).
 
TOPICS COVERED:
  • The objectives and control of water treatment programmes.
  • Analysis of the problems seen in evaporative cooling systems.
  • Cooling water calculations.
  • Treatment of cooling water.
  • Cooling water economics.
  • Monitoring of cooling systems.
 
NB: Delegates are asked to bring water samples from a cooling system. The make-up water and these samples will be analysed, results interpreted and reports written based on the findings.  
 
 
 
ASSESSMENT:
60 minute written exam.
 
6 CPD points awarded.
