As part of its commitment to comprehensive learning, the Water Management Society (WMSoc) has developed a series of presentations and practical exercises to form the training course programme. All our WMSoc tutors are fully experienced and highly knowledgeable individuals, who are actively engaged in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment and services. Training is carried out in group sizes appropriate to the subject and method to ensure proper delegate participation.
Being an independent not-for-profit organisation, the WMSOC presents information on its courses in a completely unbiased manner, with no emphasis or leaning towards any commercial body or company. Because the Society has close links to the HSE and other bodies we are able to keep courses up-to-date and give delegates information on current HSE thinking.
At the end of each course, attendees will be expected to complete a short assessment to confirm understanding of the work completed during the day and successful candidates will be issued with a City & Guilds number and certificate indicating the grade of pass obtained.
If there are sufficient delegate numbers, it may be more cost effective for the WMSoc to hold training courses at your site. Please contact 01827 289558 to discuss your requirements.
Our range of courses cover all aspects of water management and legionella training, including Cleaning and Disinfection of Water and Cooling Systems, Legionella Risk Assessment, and Managing the Risk of Legionella in Cooling Towers.
Competence - the ability of a person to work diligently, safely and effectively - can only be measured on-the-job and it is the responsibility of the employer or service provider to ensure all employees are competent to carry out the tasks assigned to them. With the unique Practical Training Area, the WMSoc is able to check the way delegates conduct themselves while carrying out practical exercises and so confirm that they apply themselves diligently and are able to work in a safe and effective manner, thus giving further reassurance to employers.
The PTA houses two cooling towers which are used in the Dosing and Control and Cooling Water Treatment courses, and two hot and cold domestic systems that are used in the risk assessment and cleaning and disinfection courses, as well as much of the day-to-day test equipment used by water treatment technicians and risk assessors. Instruction in the use of this equipment is given where appropriate.
Water Management Society is registered for Training Services with the Legionella Control Association (LCA). Membership of the LCA ensures the WMSoc maintains appropriate management systems for Training Services associated with the control of Legionella, as required by the LCA’s Code of Conduct. Please CLICK HERE to see a copy of the Water Management Society’s certificate of membership of the LCA.
The WMSoc is audited annually by both the LCA and City & Guilds.
