Water: reuse, recycling, saving

Venue: This course will be held in the WMSoc training room in Tamworth, Staffs. Full joining instructions and maps will be sent to all registered delegates.

 

This accredited course is part of a series of modular presentations forming the training course programme of the Water Management Society.

The course is an introduction to water re-use, recycling and saving.

Delegates will have an understanding of water systems but need have no formal qualifications.

It will be most useful to large water users, consultants, water treatment companies and their customers, service providers and system designers.

Saving water is becoming an important aspect of the management of industrial water systems and service providers who are able to talk with authority and help their customers in the subject will give themselves a competitive edge.

The course will fulfil the following requirements of the Knowledge Matrix of the Legionella Control Association:

 

Legionella legislation and regulation level 1

Microbiological sampling strategy, interpretation & reporting level 1

Water regulations & equipment design and installation level 3

 

Course Content

The course will concentrate on water saving by reducing demand, recycling and re-using water in a process or on a site. Rainwater harvesting is also included in the strategy as is cleaning in place (CIP) and energy recovery systems.

 

Reduction of water use might also result in reduction of effluent costs and the Mogden Formula is explained in this respect.

Equipment that can be used to help in the subject is also discussed.

 

WMSoc Assessment

All delegates will be expected to complete a WMS Assessment. This will confirm understanding of the work completed during the day and complement the usual certificate of attendance, which is issued to delegates after courses.
