2006 will see the 30th anniversary
of the first recorded incidence of Legionnaires’ Disease;
during that time a whole industry has grown up in the United
States, the UK and more recently in other European countries,
to control the proliferation of the bacterium.
This conference has been designed to bring together speakers from all over the
world to offer insight into the way countries have risen to this challenge which,
in the UK especially, makes excellent headlines in the popular press. Each of
the speakers has been carefully selected for their particular knowledge leading
to an excellent exchange of ideas and information, and a new approach to the
subject.
Some time will be spent looking at worldwide legislation and how this has responded
to various events, as developments in other countries have a habit of being absorbed
into domestic legislation. Where
they go today we may well follow – better be prepared
than taken by surprise!
The two-day conference offers a packed programme of papers, opportunities to
question the speakers, ample social time to network and a trade exhibition where
delegates can update themselves on latest developments.
