WMSOC ACCREDITED COURSE

This accredited course is part of a series of modular presentations forming the training course programme of the Water Management Society, it will be presented on the date/s shown above at a Training venue in Tamworth, Staffordshire.

For several years the WMSoc has been running a course in basic water treatment chemistry. However it was becoming increasingly obvious that even this was not basic enough for some students. This course has been developed to take students right back to the fundamentals.
This is an assessed one-day course.

Course Content an outline of the programme:

  • Basic states of matter - liquids, solids, gases.
  • Changes of state, properties, properties of water
  • Elements, atoms and molecules
  • What is water? The water molecule;hydrogen bonding; facts about water; water in industry; the water cycle; anion/cation balance; units of concentration.
  • Systems which use water: closed cooling systems; steam raising systems; closed hot water systems; once-through cooling systems; open recirculating systems.
  • Cooling mathmatics; cooling problems.
  • Understanding water treatment records.

Expected Delegates This course is aimed at new entrants to the industry; people needing to refine their knowledge and those looking for an in-house tailored training course to fit particular needs. It is intentionally designed to take students back to basics.
