Venue: This course will be held in the WMSoc training room in Tamworth, Staffs. Full joining instructions and maps will be sent to all registered delegates.

 

Delegates: The expected delegates for this course are personnel who are involved with water systems in their premises:

  • Practice Managers and Surgery Managers responsible for the premises.
  • Personnel who carry out routine maintenance, temperature monitoring, sampling and inspections of water systems in the premises.
  • Personnel who are considering carrying out their own monitoring work or checking/replacing outside contractors.

It is not expected that delegates will have detailed understanding of Legionnaires’ disease or Legionella Risk Assessments

Course Content

Water systems in General Practice Surgeries and Dental Surgeries must be controlled to prevent and control the risk from Legionnaires ‘disease.
This course explains the reasons why systems need to be monitored and controlled. It also gives practical instruction and guidance in temperature monitoring, sampling and inspection of hot and cold water services and other systems in these areas.

 

WMSoc assessment

All delegates will be expected to complete a WMSoc Assessment. This will confirm understanding of the work completed during the day and complement the usual certificate of attendance.
