Course Content
This course
will fill the following modules required in the Training Matrix
of the Legionella Control Association: legislation and regulation
- water testing and monitoring - interpretation and reporting
of results - record keeping - assessment of records.
Recent changes in legislation and guidance issued in support
of legislation have been numerous. By this time the industry
will have absorbed the amendments to the Approved Code of Practice
for the prevention of legionellosis and its accompanying guidance,
but this is only one of the topics which must be taken into
consideration when operating a water system safely. This safety
has to take into consideration not only those on site, but also
that of the general public. Many sites employ the services of
contractors to take care of the water treatment, but the day-to-day
operation of the plant will be the responsibility of site personnel.
Some of the topics covered will be:
Legislation
and guidance; management responsibilities and duties; setting
up a risk control system; meaningful sampling & testing;
safe handling and disposal of chemicals; understanding water
treatment service reports; monitoring, record keeping, validation
and certification; service provider specification and selection.
Who should attend?
This course
is aimed specifically at those who OPERATE and are RESPONSIBLE
for water systems, to ensure compliance with the relevant legislation
and safe operation of water systems. Those who attend the course
will be site
managers, senior management, facilities managers, and water
treatment engineers, site engineers, facilities managers, and
