WMSOC ACCREDITED COURSE

Venue: This course is to be held at the WMSoc Training Room in Fazeley, Tamworth, Staffs. Full joining instructions and maps will be sent to all registered delegates.

This accredited course is part of a series of modular presentations forming the training course programme of the Water Management Society and will fill the following modules required in the Training Matrix of the Legionella Control Association:
legionella awareness; its microbiology; legislation and regulations; risk assessment (basic)

All WMS tutors are experienced people actively engaged in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment and services. Un-biased information will be presented in a modular format and attendees will be expected to complete a question paper; this will be marked, graded and the results shown on the certificate of attendance. Support documentation will take the form of comprehensive course notes.

A history of Legionnaire's Disease, its microbiology and importance in the safe handling of water within commercial and industrial premises. The day will provide a full background to this, bringing the attendees fully up to date with recent legislation and guidance. Tutors will make full use of their extensive knowledge to give site instances of occurrences, situations to avoid and indicate best practice.

Delegates will be people directly responsible for the safe operation of sites, site owners and managers, Environmental Health Officers and consultants especially new entrants to the industry.
Delegates will be expected to complete a WMS Assessment. This will confirm understanding of the work completed during the day and complement the usual certificate of attendance, which is issued to delegates after courses.
