The publication of the ACOP and Guidance (L8) emphasised on the need for proof of competence of those employees who carry out risk assessments on any type of system, this course will assist in assembling this proof.

The one-day course will cover current requirements and guidelines for all water systems.

The objectives include:

  • To discuss and present the alternative ways of carrying out risk assessments in general, and suitable and sufficient legionella risk assessments in particular to give sufficient information to enable experienced people to carry out a Legionella Risk Assessment on any system to give practical advice on how the assessment is carried out to discuss how the Risk Assessment is presented
  • The day will include classroom instruction and discussion on requirements for Risk assessors and competence; reporting; risk factors; hazard systems. It will also include a substantial session in the WMSoc Practical Training Area and during this session the candidate's diligence will be observed and assessed.

All delegates will be expected to complete a WMS Assessment. This will confirm understanding of the work completed during the day and complement the usual certificate of attendance, which is issued to delegates after courses
