ATTAINING LCA REGISTRATION COURSE
This course is part of a series of modular presentations forming the training course programme of the Water Management Society.
It has been designed with the help of, and will be presented by, Legionella Control Association (LCA) Assessors.
The objective of the course is to help companies successfully achieve registration with the LCA. The course is aimed at: companies who are not presently registered, but wish to commit to the Code of Conduct; registered companies that are finding difficulty in attaining Category 1 status and companies who are extending their Areas of Interest (perhaps moving from a ‘one-off’ supplier to more usual service provider) or are growing in size (so requiring different conditions of compliance).
The course fulfils the following requirement of the LCA training matrix:
Compliance with LCA service provider commitments level 3
Course Content
The one-day course will cover current requirements to be met and guidelines to be followed in order to register with the LCA.
It will define and explain formal written procedures and mechanisms; explain the importance of the Internal Audit and what it must include; define the difference between the management system and management procedure; explain the purpose and expectations of the company visit; explain the auditors expectations with regard to competence. .
Examples of actual Statements of Compliance will be referred to and used to show how your Statement can be written successfully.
The course will include ample time for discussion of some of the delegates Statements of Compliance, if required, and advice given on how the individual registrant can help himself meet the LCA requirements.
The publication of the ACOP and Guidance (L8) emphasised on the need for proof of competence of those employees who carry out risk assessments on any type of system, this course will assist in assembling this proof.
