All WMS tutors are experienced people who have been engaged in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment and services.
L8 requires that there is proof of competence of those persons who carry out risk assessments on all types of water systems, this course will provide a starting point in assembling this proof, but will not bestow competence in isolation.
This is an assessed and accredited one-day course which will introduce delegates to the basic requirements for risk assessment of all water systems except cooling tower systems. The course will include common water systems ranging from hot and cold water domestic systems in the workplace to the more specialist plant that the delegates have on their sites, such as quench tanks and river cooled heat exchangers.
All aerosol generating plant and equipment must be subject to a Legionella risk assessment.

Course Content
The day will include:
- medical aspects of legionella
- legal aspects
- legionella risk assessment in theory and practice
- record keeping, log books and implementing controls.
Expected Delegates The course is aimed at any person including Managers, Responsible and Nominated Responsible Persons, supervisory staff, who wish to learn more about legionnaires’ disease, basic legionella risk assessment, and legal responsibilities.
The course can be tailored to meet in-house needs if required.
All delegates will be expected to complete a WMS Assessment. This will confirm understanding of the work completed during the day and complement the usual certificate of attendance, which is issued to delegates after courses.
